In early 2001, after many years in corporate America, I decided that selling real estate in central
Florida would be my next career adventure. Little did I know what a dynamic adventure it
would become? Shortly after earning my real estate license, I started selling homes for a new
home builder, Engineered Homes of Orlando. Fast forward 17 years later, that path has led me
here, starting my third real estate company.

The points in between are many as they are diverse. I’m one of the very rare, real estate
professionals that managed to stay fully engaged, selling homes throughout the worst housing
down turn our generation has ever experienced. But through adversity comes strength and
along the way, I learned a thing or two………… ok, maybe a whole lot more than that, about the
real estate market, but more importantly, in dealing with people; buyers, sellers, real estate
agents, mortgage lenders, builders, sub-contractors, trade partners, inspectors and the whole
gamut of people involved in building, buying and selling of homes.

From my very humble beginning with Engineered Homes, I found greener pastures with
Mercedes Homes in/around Orlando but was then downsized, as were many of my esteemed
colleagues, during the start of 2006 “bubble burst” when cancellations for new home sales
ranged from 40-60%. Then things got interesting, here’s the condensed version; I was hired to
sell two distressed neighborhoods in Santa Rosa Beach, FL for DR Horton, moved to Nashville,
TN to “start-up” a brand new neighborhood for a brand new home builder (Weldon Homes),
then to Liberty, MO for a distressed neighborhood with Garbett Homes, then to West Valley
City, UT for Garbett, then to Rock Springs, WY for a Garbett new development, then to Mobile,
AL for a Breland Homes start-up neighborhood, then to Freeport, FL for a Holiday Builders startup
neighborhood, took a quick break from selling as a new home sales manager for New Home
Star/Vanacore Homes in Ormond Beach, FL, wasn’t loving management, so went back to selling,
worked for Sam Rodgers Homes in Venice, FL, then back to Alabama for DSLD Homes start-up in
Foley/Spanish Fort. Wow, I covered a lot of territory……. funny but true, when I took a new
assignment, I packed my bare essentials in my beloved Mini Cooper (insert picture) and figured
out the rest when I got to my new location. Saying my real estate career has been an
adventure is no joke!!

All that, in 17 years as an exclusive/on-site sales agent for builders and developers. Now, it’s
time to work for you!!
